Brown Eyed Women

I kind of like the way this came out, despite the heavy echo and the fact that it falls apart at the end...

I found them on sale for 55 bucks, but I still got a deal, I guess
I now go to the bus stop to see if I can get a "courtesy" ride downtown. Spending the 10 bucks on the Nike Air sneakers might mean that I will have to walk 8 miles in them to get to my spot.
The library is closing soon...

  1. Good to hear you're not in jail!

Work on that fingerpicking, because if you can pull off a little Chet Atkins, people will love you. Face it, probably a good 75% of street musicians are guitarists, and of those, about 98%, maybe 99%, are blanging away with a flat pick. Fingerpicking or slide, anything different is a huge count in your favor.

Count on sounding good in real life, so as I've mentioned, the Kool Kids with their $2000 iPhones and $500-a-month connect, can film you and put you on YouTube. People like you, or I, are going to find the Internet slipping away from us. For example, when I move from here, since my IP address will be different, there's a very good chance I won't be able to list stuff on Craig's List for a while. But I'll be able to play at farmer's markets etc., so I won't have the Internet as my only lifeline to the outside world.

  2. Yeah, except when you start to play slide, people are likely to come over and request some "classic" slide piece (Statesboro Blues comes to mind) or something else by a Slide Master, same with fingerpicking "You must know some Reverand Gary Davis, if you're a finger picker!"
But I am planning to expand my "Dust In The Wind" and "Dear Prudence", the intro to "More Than A Feeling" and "Stairway to Heaven" to more than 4 songs, at least; and once you get the picking patterns down it opens up another thousand songs; if you can stomach John Denver and Dan Fogelberg and Jim Croce

  3. You don't have to be a Slide Master, just sound decent. Mastery can come later.

But I can talk; my practice has been going to hell. And I may not have as large a "bolus" of money when I leave here as I hoped, because I just don't have as much stuff to sell as I thought.

However my position at my friend's is even more firm, since his wife "really" wants their back yard to look good, and since it will effectively be my living room, I intend to make it look excellent and grow things like tomatoes and herbs.
